Learning without
losing the human.
Experience architecture, design systems and digital governance for a global learning ecosystem.

The context
Healthcare learning spans professions, languages, environments and levels of digital familiarity. At WHO Academy, my work connected product design with experience strategy, design systems and digital governance.
My contribution
I led the design of the WHO Academy Design System: visual and interaction foundations, reusable patterns, documentation, accessibility considerations and governance for multidisciplinary teams. Alongside this, I worked on the learning platform’s experience architecture, including journeys spanning conventional digital learning and immersive environments.
A system that could evolve
The design-system work aimed to give teams a common language while leaving room for individual learning experiences to develop. My contribution extended into production guidance, cross-functional collaboration and delivery practices, bringing product, engineering, learning and content perspectives together.
The wider practice
Related WHO work included rapid research and prototyping for the COVID-19 app, contributions to MCM and PRSEAH initiatives, and participation in digital governance. These sit alongside the Academy platform rather than being claimed as features of it.
The image shows the public WHO Academy website as viewed in October 2026. The platform has evolved since my 2020–2024 role; this is current programme context, not a claim that I designed every element shown.
